This a story based on the history of the east African East African* coast line. The story revolves around the Portuguese, who came to Mombasa, Kenya to stop the slave trade which was being conducted by the Arabs. The Portuguese came with spreading Christianity as cover but in real sense they were in for the slave trade as well, something that didn't go well with the Africans who sought assistance from the Arabs to finish the Portuguese.
This is a story set in a village in Central Province. The story follows two Mau Mau fighters on the run from the British Army, who takes refuge in the home of an Asian shopkeeper. The story is about what happens in the night when the Mau Mau fighters have to interact with the Asian shopkeeper's family and make their way out of the village, away from their pursuers- the British Army. Late 1600s, Mombasa City State, Kenyan Coast; following years of rape, murder, defilement of Islam and pillaging, the Portuguese become unwelcomed settlers on the East African coast. Wavamizi as a short film is a preamble to the siege of Mombasa laid on the Portuguese stronghold of Fort Jesus by a combined force of Omani Arabs, Mombasa Locals and Zanzibaris between 1666 and 1669 that led to the first ouster of the Portuguese from the East African coast.

Kiboi Kuria Peter is a 10 year veteran of film, radio and television having started out as a writer then graduating into directing and producing. Kiboi is a winner of back to back International Emmys (2015 & 2016) in Children and Young People category for his input as a writer on the social commentary radio drama ShujaazFM. More than anything Kiboi loves to play god by creating memorable multi layered characters. He has a keen interest in portraying in his works personal internal struggles as well as questions of morality and its ambiguity thereof.
